To enable robots to interact more fluidly with humans, the design of their movements should incorporate expressive elements—such as intention, attention, and emotions—while also considering traditional functional aspects like task execution, spatial parameters, and efficiency.
The robot in discussion is a charming lamp that draws inspiration from Pixar’s renowned Luxo, showcasing a range of human-like expressions while engaging in various tasks, rather than focusing solely on functionality.
For instance, the robot displays human-like gestures and reactions as it interacts with Apple researchers.
