After several weeks following the last significant OS updates, new beta software has finally arrived for Apple’s devices. The beta 1 updates encompass tvOS 18.4, HomePod 18.4, and more.
A new software cycle to introduce additional features beyond the previous update
Apple has officially initiated a new beta cycle for its various software platforms.
Last month, the company released public versions of its prior updates, which included tvOS 18.3, HomePod 18.3, and additional enhancements. Those updates were primarily geared towards performance optimization, bug resolutions, and security improvements, leaving little room for new features.
Now, however, a brand-new beta cycle has commenced, opening up the door for potentially more feature-rich updates.
In total, Apple has unveiled an array of new beta 1 updates, including:
- iOS 18.4
- iPadOS 18.4
- macOS Sequoia 15.4
- visionOS 2.4
- tvOS 18.4
- HomePod 18.4
- and watchOS 11.4
Potential features in the latest updates
The initial updates in this wave are anticipated to bring several appealing feature enhancements.
Notably, a redesign of Apple Mail is expected for both the iPad and Mac, along with support for new artificial intelligence languages. An upgrade for Siri is also rumored, although it seems more likely to occur in the 18.5 version.
As for the features of beta updates such as tvOS 18.4 and HomePod 18.4, they remain largely uncertain at this point.
Given the minimal updates from the previous beta cycle, we can hopefully expect a few new feature additions this time around.
We will delve into the beta 1 updates and will keep you informed of any and all findings.
