This past week, Apple introduced the release candidate (RC) versions of its forthcoming substantial software updates. However, as is often the case, not every release was completely prepared for a public rollout. Today, Apple has rolled out an updated RC build for macOS Sequoia 15.4.
Updated macOS 15.4 RC likely resolves critical issues
On Monday, the release candidate for macOS 15.4 became available to developers and public beta participants.
Now, the initial RC has been succeeded by an upgraded version.
The first RC build of macOS 15.4 was identified as version 24E246.
The newly issued RC increments that number to: 24E247.
Apple has not disclosed specifics about the changes made, but the issuance of new RCs typically signifies the identification of critical issues during the beta testing phase.
Although Apple originally expected the first RC to be the version released to all Mac users, it appears they uncovered sufficient reasons to launch a new RC instead.
