The Apple Vision Pro has just reached its one-year milestone, and it seems poised for a significant update—no new hardware needed.
Rumors are circulating that Apple Intelligence is finally set to debut on the Apple Vision Pro. When Apple introduced its AI capabilities last June, it only mentioned support for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Currently, Apple Intelligence has been rolled out to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, M-series iPad Pro, iPad Air, the latest iPad mini, and M-series Macs.
However, Apple has not confirmed that Apple Intelligence will arrive on Vision Pro in a future update.
As I pointed out a few days ago:
The primary opportunity for Apple Vision Pro, apart from its cost and weight, is that it operates on Apple’s second-generation M-series chip and currently does not incorporate Apple Intelligence.
Nonetheless, it is possible that Apple could enable Apple Intelligence on the existing Apple Vision Pro without necessitating new hardware. The hardware has barely completed its first year in the U.S. and has been gradually entering markets over the past 12 months.
Yet, a new leak from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg indicates, for the first time, that the current Apple Vision Pro may indeed receive Apple’s AI features. If this turns out to be the case, it would be a pleasant surprise for the customers who invested in the $3500 headset.
This news is particularly welcome in light of the report that three new Siri features powered by Apple Intelligence may not be available in time for iOS 18.4.
Stay tuned—we anticipate a variety of Apple announcements in the upcoming days, including a product launch set for Wednesday that has already been confirmed by the company.
