Thanks to Apple Intelligence and Genmoji, users now have the ability to craft their own emojis. Nonetheless, the traditional emojis remain available and will certainly maintain their timeless appeal. Their popularity is such that one artist has actually created a physical version of Apple’s running shoe emoji.
You can now purchase shoes resembling an emoji created by Apple
According to The Verge, artist and designer Jose Wong has taken it upon himself to design real running shoes inspired by the Apple-created emoji, which is familiar to many users of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Named “The Shoe 1,” it will be available in sizes 5 to 12 and will retail online for $219.90 per pair.
If “The Shoe 1” or the Apple’s running shoe emoji seems recognizable, it is because the emoji design draws inspiration from the classic New Balance 574, a favorite of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Yet, instead of the New Balance logo, the emoji features two parallel lines.
Wong incorporated aspects from both the New Balance 574 and Apple products into The Shoe 1’s design. For instance, the packaging boasts a minimalist aesthetic, featuring an envelope with the text “Designed by Josewong in China.” Additionally, the insoles showcase an impression of an iPhone’s internal parts.
The shoes have an upper made of full-grain nubuck leather combined with mesh for ventilation, while the midsole and heel are constructed from lightweight EVA foam and a polyurethane rim to provide a blend of comfort and “all-day support.”
Those interested in acquiring The Shoe 1 can place orders now. Wong mentions that the shoes are set to begin shipping next week, and all sales will be “final” with no option for refunds. Stock is expected to be limited. Further details can be found here.
