The Dutch capital city is set to host the Bitcoin 2022 conference, with event organizers projecting that by that point in time, we will see a new all-time high (ATH) for the number one cryptocurrency.

This year, Amsterdam welcomes some of the biggest names in BTC such as Jeff Garzik, Charlie Lee, and Hodlonaut, who will discuss topics ranging from the current state of the altcoin market to how Bitcoin helps in times of political turmoil. Despite this, there are now many more companies and projects dedicated to BTC than five years ago. “Bitcoin has made huge leaps forward since then, but there are still many challenges ahead to be solved before we can reach mass adoption”

It will be organized by the BTC 2022 Foundation, which was founded this year as a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cryptocurrency adoption across Europe. The foundation previously arranged events like World Crypto Con 2020 and Amsterdam Blockchain Week 2020 — both of which were successful in terms of attendance numbers and media coverage.

BTC 2022 Foundation CEO Maarten Ectors told Cointelegraph: “We believe that Bitcoin is still very much alive despite its recent price decline and bear market.”

Bitcoin Hopes For Turnaround

This year, Amsterdam welcomes some of the biggest names in Bitcoin such as Jeff Garzik, Charlie Lee and Hodlonaut, who will discuss topics ranging from the current state of the altcoin market to how Bitcoin helps in times of political turmoil.

Jeff Garzik is a blockchain engineer at Bloq Inc., a company that specializes in developing enterprise-grade blockchain solutions for businesses. He is also an active open-source contributor and an advisor to several startups focused on developing decentralized applications (dApps).

Charlie Lee is known as one of the most recognizable figures in cryptocurrency thanks to his work on Litecoin which he created back in 2011. Today he continues to work on Litecoin by heading up engineering at Coinbase where he is responsible for maintaining full nodes, overseeing various scaling efforts including SegWit implementation and managing LTC’s development roadmap.

Hodlonaut was voted “crypto influencer” by Blockchain News Magazine readers earlier this year after making waves across social media platforms like Twitter with his enthusiastic embrace of cryptocurrencies such as BTC Cash (BCH).
