For the first time in a long time, the bitcoin ordinals reached up to 58,179 inscriptions yesterday. It is the highest inscription record of all time perhaps. This happened because they recently launched ‘token standards’ for the blockchain. The ordinals are being used for locating the token contracts widely in the industry. Along with mint tokens and transfer tokens.
Bitcoin Ordinals Protocols Caused The Surge
VTC ordinals are non-fungible tokens. This is compared to digital artifacts. These types of tokens usually carry data in the form of text, jpeg images, pdfs, video, and audio formats also. All these are part of the bitcoin network.
Whereas, the BRC-20 token is using bitcoin ordinals to widen its range in every aspect, e.g.mint tokens, token contracts, and also transfer tokens. These works like Ethereum’s ERC-20 token’s standard. To enable the VTC ordinals the staff has been working on it since 14th November 2021. This was enabled by Taproot soft fork.
