This year’s Grammy Awards is getting bashed on social media as well. This year, the popular K-pop group known as BTS had been nominated for the award. However, the group, unfortunately, did not receive it in the end.

Their followers, also known as BTS Army, took to Twitter to vent their frustration at the result. The members of the boy band are Jungkook, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jimin, Suga, and RM. They were nominated for the song “Dynamite” for the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

BTS Army’s Outcry

BTS had been nominated earlier as well, in 2019. However, this was the only time their music was nominated. The BTS Army was expecting their idols to be the victors. However, the award was given to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga for the song “Rain on Me”. The group had posted a video of their reaction to the results.

The BTS fans are known for their protective enthusiasm for their idols. As such, they are calling the Grammys “Scammys”. They have raised accusations of the organization taking unfair advantage of the group’s popularity without rewarding them.

The K-pop group however gave a live performance of the song from Seoul. The fans were seen talking about how appreciative their idols were of the chance and how much effort they put into the performance. @Dior_TaeTae impersonated the official Grammys Twitter and tweeted that the program used the group to get views.

BTS, however, was not disheartened by the result. They said they are really missing their fans and the most important thing is to meet the Army again as soon as possible. They promised to come back even stronger for the next time.

“Scammys” had been the cry last year too when neither Ariana Grande nor Lana Del Rey managed to win their respective categories.
