The day has arrived for Apple to unveil its initial M4 Macs. Coinciding with this launch, the company is set to initiate a limited pilot program for a reduced Vision Pro showcase in select Apple Stores.
New limited pilot begins Friday at Apple Stores
Mark Gurman shared insights on X regarding the upcoming pilot:
Apple is set to test a streamlined Vision Pro setup in certain retail locations starting tomorrow, alongside the introduction of the new Macs. Currently, many stores feature two AVP tables: one for demos and another for display models. This pilot will consolidate those into a single table for both purposes.
Given the limited space within Apple’s retail environments, consolidating the Vision Pro setup seems like a logical step.
At present, customers experiencing a Vision Pro demo typically do so away from the main sales area where products are showcased.
This pilot may alter that arrangement, potentially resulting in a less relaxed demo experience for users depending on Apple’s configuration.
The specifics of how many locations will participate in this testing phase remain unclear, and there’s a possibility that Apple might not extend this approach universally. I’ll be keen to observe the company’s evolving strategy for Vision Pro at its retail locations.
