Following her video controversy, TikTok users got outraged and Charli D’Amelio lost around 1M followers on this platform. Right now, her fan following is around 98 million but D’Amelio is struggling with the bad comments and was tearful in Thursday’s Livestream.
D’Amelio tried to communicate with her followers via Instagram live to address the criticisms. Some of her fans characterized her demeanor as entitled, ungrateful and rude in the Youtube video on D’Amelio’s family channel.
Charli D’Amelio Termed It As A Huge Misunderstanding
While speaking to James Charles in her video, she complained about her not reaching 100M TikTok followers in a year. Dixie, her sister was also subjected to criticisms on YouTube and social media for being disgusted with the food cooked by her private chef.
In the Livestream, D’Amelio tried to explain the situation as a huge misunderstanding and how she never tried being arrogant.
She explained how the situation got out of hand and how people are going to follow their thoughts only no matter how she handles it and explains it. She further said how these people will never be a part of her life in the future and she is fine with it.
She apologized genuinely and added that she never meant to let anyone down and be hurtful in her video.
She termed this video as one time where she was not intending to maintain her ‘perfect image’ which everyone is compelling her to do. She was only being sarcastic and making jokes. If her TikTok followers don’t want that from her, she will not repeat the same thing, she mentioned.
Charli D’Amelio Has Been Receiving Abusive And Violent Comments
She broke into tears while mentioning some of this messed-up stuff,hateful comments, abusive and violent statements on social media.
While not being sure whether she will appear over the internet again, she is not okay with the fact that people are not even considering her as a human while blatantly disrespecting her. People are forgetting the fact that she is still a human being and mistakes happen all the time from human beings.
She is not sure about being in the community that she has put herself in and the community that she is in. D’Amelio’s comment box during her live stream got flooded by supportive messages and hearts from her well-wishers.
Her fans asked her to stay strong and the sad fact that people will always be jealous of her.
James Charles from her video controversy also defended her when TikTok users started tagging Charles in the comments. He called Charli grateful for her fans and how he doesn’t like these statements dragging her down.
D’Amelio’s followers currently stand at 98,589,000 which is declining as we speak.
