The majority of the citizens of America have already claimed the third Federal Stimulus check sanctioned by Joe Biden, the President of America. This initiative was taken under American Rescue Plan which passed $1.9 trillion to help the poor people. However, there are still millions of people who are either waiting for the payment or did not claim it.
The citizens who still did not claim it can get the check by using the Recovery Rebate Credit in the filing of income tax returns for the year 2021. The people who do not file income tax generally can also claim this check by filing the returns.
The only requirement to get the Recovery Rebate Credit is to know the amount of money that the individual has received in the past or must receive in the future. The correct amount is shown in the IRS account of every individual or in the letter that was sent by them known as the Letter 6475.
The citizens who are facing problems filing the tax within the stipulated time can fill up the extension Form 4868. The eligibility of single filers for this stimulus check is an annual income of less than $75,000 and for joint filers less than $150,000. As per data released by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), there are nearly 644,705 eligible candidates who still did not get the last stimulus check. The total fund for the missing stimulus check is nearly $1.6 billion.
