Apple and Google are the first phone-makers to bring out a 5G phone- the iPhone 12, and the Pixel 5- something that Google brought along with the Pixel 4A 5G. Both these cell phones are on sale currently. The main two differences between the two mobiles are the OS and the price.
The fight for the most justified price is obviously going to the iPhone 12. With a price of $699, the Pixel 5 reneges on the premium features we have been associating with Apple and Samsung at that price range. The price structure of the iPhone 12 is quite different, as the company released close to 4 different variants of the same phone- with the prices ranging. The lowest price of the iPhone 12 is $799- which could be a disadvantage for Apple as the difference in $100 is what most people during this pandemic would be concerned about. When it comes to the OS, people who have been acclimatized to the iOS of Apple would never revert to the OS of a Google phone. But it is the same for Android users too. But in the event that you are looking to make a switch between either, then you should get ready for a comparison between the design, battery, camera, and performance of the iPhone 12, and the Pixel 5.
iPhone 12
The iPhone 12 comes with a sleek look, upgrades in its camera, 5G support, and a screen made of a ceramic shield. The newest mobile from Apple is definitely quite a big deal. Patrick Holland did call this mobile a ‘slabular beauty’. The iPhone 12 scores high on most tests, and is definitely one of the highest-rated phones of all time.
Google Pixel 5
The Pixel 3 was touted as the best android phone of 2018, but the following phones haven’t been as great- they might have a cool camera, but no special features. Yet, Google Pixel 5 is filled with goodies from the company which includes a much larger battery.
Design
The flagship mobile of apple decided to go back to the design that was used in the previous phones. The recent flagship phone is also available in dark blue and new blue for iPhone 12. The Google Pixel 5 comes in a much more minimalist shape- with a camera that is hole-punch- and a camera setup, and thin bezels.
Camera
The phone cameras of Google really ace the test when it comes to photography. Unfortunately, Apple iPhone 12, too, has improved their softwares in charge of the camera. While the camera setup for Google Pixel 5 is still top notch, the iPhone 12 actually caters to pro photographers.
Processor, battery and performance
The iPhone 12 is much better equipped to deal with the Bionic 14 processor, whereas the Pixel 5 has a 756G chipset Snapdragon from Qualcomm. The processor of the Pixel 5 is actually slower than the previous model- but this was apparently a move by the company to lower the costs of the mobile.
The Google Pixel 5 also has a battery of 4000 mAh- which has literally the highest capacity amongst all phones. Although Apply didn’t release all the specs for its battery, there has been a video which showed a 2,815 mAh battery.
While both the phones have their own specificities, the iPhone 12 seems to be the best rated one out of them- but it must also be taken into account that it costs $100 more than the Google Pixel 5.
