Denise Richards‘s car was shot at during a road-rage incident in Los Angeles, TMZ reported Tuesday.

The actress was driving with her husband along the 405 freeway on Monday when an SUV cut off her and a friend in a second car, according to the site.

When Richards reportedly honked at the other driver, he became enraged and fired three shots into her vehicle before speeding away from the scene. One of those bullets narrowly missed hitting one of Richards’s friends in the passenger seat as well as one of her daughters sitting in the back, TMZ said.

The LAPD confirmed there was an incident but wouldn’t confirm any details of what happened or who was involved in the shooting.

Road rage is a serious problem that has been on the rise in recent years. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were 3.7 million aggressive-driving incidents reported in 2017 alone, and more than 1,800 of these resulted in injuries or fatalities. It’s important to remember that there are consequences for your actions—and not just if you happen to be driving while intoxicated or speeding at an excessive rate of speed. If you find yourself on the receiving end of road rage, it’s always best to keep your cool and avoid escalating situations.

No one was injured, and Denise Richards was not in the car at the time of the shooting. The driver and passenger of the SUV were arrested. According to LAPD spokesman Tony Im, “The driver was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon and transporting a firearm in a motor vehicle.”

The passenger was charged with shooting at an occupied vehicle as well as shooting at a vehicle on a highway.
