A guaranteed stimulus check income program in the state of Minneapolis will be processing its next payment to the residents of the state in just two days.
The payment, which was sent on Saturday, will form a part of the Minneapolis Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot, which started in June 2022 and will be paying the recipients monthly cash payments till June 2024. Around 200 households were initially selected to receive the payments from the program, and they will also be able to spend the sum of $500 payments in whichever way they deem fit, according to the website. The project manager for this income program informed the Washington Examiner that the payments for the program will be processed on the 20th of every month and all of the participants will be receiving a sum of $500 every month.

In order to be eligible for this stimulus check program, an applicant would have to be at least 18 years of age by 1st January. They also need to have an annual income which is around 50% of the area median income for the state. They must also be living in one of the several ZIP codes that have been specified by this program. Also, the applicants need to have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The qualifying effects of the pandemic also include losing a job, losing access to childcare, and having higher health expenses.
According to the demographics of this particular stimulus check program, the recipients are mostly indigenous, black, or people of color. The other recipients, at 19.5% are either non-Hispanic or white. Additionally, 69% of the recipients of this program are women, and 42.5% of them are between the ages of 30 and 39.
