Today marks Election Day across the United States, and the built-in News app on your iPhone can keep you updated throughout the day.
Within the News app, you can access current information about voting in your state, along with the latest news and updates. What’s particularly exciting is that the News app features a Live Activity that allows you to track the election results in real-time.
Track the election results on your iPhone
To remind you, a Live Activity on your iPhone is visible in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen, providing real-time updates with the latest information.
You can activate the Live Activity by launching the News app and tapping on the “Follow the election live” banner displayed at the top.
As the initial results come in, the Live Activity will be visible on your iPhone’s Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, continuously updating with the most recent information about the presidential race as well as House and Senate results.
The Live Activity will display presidential election results in the Dynamic Island and on your Apple Watch. Meanwhile, on your iPhone’s Lock Screen, you’ll receive presidential results along with updates for the Senate and House of Representatives elections.
The News app also gathers the latest news from Election Day throughout the day. Additionally, you can find comprehensive voter information for your specific state, provided by NBC News.
