Wildfires in North and South Carolina impact homes
Numerous wildfires were reported in South Carolina, leading the governor to declare a state of emergency.
Dry conditions throughout the Carolinas have created ideal conditions for wildfires to spread in the area.
The largest fire in the Upstate is nearly 500 acres near Landrum in Polk County, straddling the South Carolina-North Carolina line, which has prompted evacuations and was reported to be 30% contained as of the morning of March 3.
Additional fires are also active in Oconee County near Mountain Rest, Greenwood County, and areas to the east of the Upstate.
