The videogame adaptation grossed $500 million in a week. Super Mario Bros was a sketchy start perhaps. After hitting the box office the table turned. In 2016 it surpassed Warcraft to be the highest-grossed film ever made and hit the box office.
Super Mario Bros Keeping The Record Straight
It is the second time Super Mario Bros broke the record for the highest-grossed film. Since 2016 they have started keeping the record straight. It hit the worldwide box office with $500 million within a week.
Chris Pratt starred as the Nintendo. Super Mario beat Marvel Studio’s released Ant-man. Ant-man the Wasp: Quantumania was the highest-grossed film this year since its release.
However, Super Mario crossed the limit and became the best video game movie ever made.
This is the second time it has earned a spot after 2016’s World of Warcraft. It was the big-screen adaptation that held the spot. Nothing after that could beat that.
Super Mario Bros was released on April 5th in the States only. Within a week it made $375 million globally. During the easter weekend, it made $204 million domestically.
It has set the bar for any animated movie ever made. It took the box office on the opening weekend. It even outperformed last year’s released Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Perhaps when it was released it was the biggest video game movie ever made.
Super Mario Bros even beat that. The director did not deny or accept the upcoming sequel. They are focused on the future.
