Today, Apple launched a series of significant updates for its Final Cut applications. Both Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad have received enhancements packed with new powerful features, while Final Cut Camera has also been improved.

The recent Final Cut updates from Apple introduce an extensive array of features.

One of the highlights is the introduction of Apple Intelligence with the new Image Playground support. Additionally, there are several small and large updates aimed at optimizing workflows, providing new functionalities, and increasing adaptability.

Final Cut Pro 11.1 features the following improvements and bug fixes:

  • Apply color corrections and effects to an adjustment clip positioned above the timeline to simultaneously impact a selection of clips.
  • Unlock your creativity with Image Playground, utilizing Apple Intelligence to swiftly generate stylized images based on descriptions, suggested themes, or individuals from your Photos library. (Works with macOS 15.2 or later on Mac models with M1 or newer.)
  • Enhance your Magnetic Mask workflows with important bug fixes, performance upgrades, and a new keyboard shortcut for showing or hiding the Magnetic Mask Editor.
  • Utilize the Quantec QRS (Quantec Room Simulator) effect to produce natural and clear audio reverbs mimicking real acoustic environments.
  • Maintain organization by renaming audio effects directly in the inspector.
  • Identify the source of a multicam angle or synchronized clip within the browser.
  • Adjust markers in the timeline by dragging them within a clip or deleting them by dragging out of a clip.

On the iPad front, new keyboard shortcuts and support for portrait orientation are among the standout features.

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2.2 includes the following capabilities and enhancements:

  • Broaden your editing capabilities with support for portrait orientation on iPad.
  • Accelerate your editing process with keyboard shortcuts for nudging a selection, replacing with a gap, and lifting or overwriting to the primary storyline.
  • Discover inspiration with Image Playground, leveraging Apple Intelligence to rapidly create stylized images based on descriptions, suggested ideas, or people from your Photos library. (Available for iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later, running iPadOS 18.2 or newer.)
  • Record in 50 fps for enhanced editing versatility and delivery options.

Final Cut Camera 1.2 encompasses the following features and improvements:

  • Quickly switch to the 48 mm telephoto lens to capture the ideal shot. (Requires iPhone 14 Pro or newer.)
  • Experience playback of your Log videos in SDR or HDR, preserving the vibrancy of the original scene with the application of the Apple Log LUT. (Requires iPhone 15 Pro or newer.)
  • Record videos in Spatial Audio for a more realistic and immersive auditory experience. (Requires iPhone 16.)
  • Capture in 50 fps to further enhance editing flexibility and delivery options.
