Latest iOS 19 Leak Reveals New Icons, Floating Toolbars, and More

Recently, we shared details from a video by YouTuber Jon Prosser, who claims to have accessed an internal version of iOS 19. In this video, Prosser provided a preview of what the next iteration of iOS design may look like. He is now back with additional visuals based on purported leaked internal builds of iOS 19, showcasing new icons, floating bars, and other features.

According to Prosser, the app icons will feature a new shape that falls between the current design and a perfect circle, resulting in a more rounded appearance without resembling those in visionOS or watchOS. As Apple is expected to align iOS more closely with visionOS, users can look forward to redesigned menus that incorporate more shadows and depth. Moreover, certain elements will exhibit a shimmering effect as users navigate their devices.

The system’s Tab View, which refers to the tabs within applications, will bear resemblance to what’s found in visionOS and even the Photos app in iOS 18. The navigation bar in applications such as Music and the App Store will have a floating interface with a new design for the Search tab. In the Messages app, the search field will now be positioned at the bottom of the screen.

If Prosser’s insights are accurate, the redesign may not be as radical as some anticipated, but it will definitely lend a fresh feel to iOS 19. For instance, the concept of the iOS 19 Settings app shared by Prosser maintains a similar look to the current version, yet features shadows on each list item and increased spacing between items.

Jon Prosser was among the first to indicate that Apple has been developing a new interface for iOS 19. He shared a concept showcasing what could potentially be a completely redesigned Camera app for the iPhone with buttons that float on the screen. This rumor was supported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who stated earlier this month that iOS 19 and macOS 16 would deliver the “most significant upgrade” to the interface in years.

To lend credence to these rumors, the artwork introduced at WWDC 2025 a few days ago draws heavy inspiration from visionOS, featuring glass-like components, depth, and shadows.

The truth will be revealed on June 9, during Apple’s opening keynote for WWDC 2025.
