Galaxy S25 ‘Slim’ Allegedly Measures 6.4mm, Making it Thicker than the iPhone

Samsung and Apple are gearing up to unveil new, sleeker smartphones in 2025. However, recent leaks indicate that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 “Slim” may not be able to compete with the rumored “iPhone 17 Air” in terms of slimness.

For some time now, there have been reports suggesting that Apple is developing a remarkably thin iPhone for 2025, prompting Samsung to elevate its game in response. The anticipated Galaxy S25 “Slim” is believed to debut following the standard Galaxy S25 lineup, but up to now, details regarding its features have been scarce.

As per fresh insights from SmartPrix, the Galaxy S25 “Slim” is projected to have dimensions of 159 x 76 x 6.4mm, with the camera bump extending to 8.3mm.

If accurate, this would make the device nearly 2mm thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and about 1mm slimmer than the Galaxy S25+, which is rumored to be sized at 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.3mm.

How does Apple’s offering compare?

The anticipated “iPhone 17 Air” hasn’t had many specifics leak, but the latest report from DMN indicates that it could be as slim as 5.5mm at its thinnest point. It’s uncertain whether this means the device will feature a tapered design akin to what Apple employed with the MacBook Air for years, but it appears it will be significantly thinner than Samsung’s entry.

The report also notes a Snapdragon 8 Elite, a display size of approximately 6.8 inches, and a possible launch in May 2025.

Samsung is currently accepting reservations for the Galaxy S25 series, offering a $50 credit for pre-orders and potential savings exceeding $1,200. Reservations are complimentary, and there is no commitment to purchase a device, but this is the only opportunity to receive the $50 credit.
