Many Americans’ budgets have been thrown off by inflating gas prices, but the government hasn’t done anything to help yet. But many states have made their version of stimulus checks to help their residents.

For example, drivers in Missouri can get their gas tax back. Several thousand drivers have asked Missouri for this check to help pay for gas. Those who haven’t applied yet don’t need to worry because they still have a lot of time to do so.

Stimulus Check Missouri: What Is This?

In 2021, the state of Missouri elevated its gas tax, which meant that the people had to pay more at the petrol pump. So, the govt implemented a tax rebate program for gas to help people deal with the higher tax. But Missourians can only get the stimulus check for gas if they can show proof that they bought gas.

To get the Missouri gas stimulus check, drivers must show details from the gas receipts they saved from October 1, 2021, to June 30 in 2022. To get the money back, drivers must submit a refund claim for fuel and send it in between July 1 and September 30, 2022. Claims sent to the government after September 30, 2022, will not be accepted.

Drivers don’t have to turn in physical evidence of their gas purchase receipts. Instead, they need to give information from the receipts, such as Gas station’s name, the date the gas was bought, and how much gas was bought. Drivers should keep a copy of their gas receipts even after they have sent in their claim.

It can also be claimed online through the MyTax Portal. After that, the Department of Revenue will handle the refunds in the order that it gets them. If the refund is completed after the expiry of 45 days, the department will have to pay interest.
