Gentler Streak, a leading fitness and wellness application for Apple devices, has received another update. This version brings several new widgets that display various health metrics, allowing users to monitor their health directly from their Home Screen.
The new widgets are derived from Gentler Streak’s Wellbeing section, which presents a range of body metrics utilising health data gathered by the Apple Watch. The app analyzes data including average heart rate, wrist temperature, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation to help users gauge their health status and recognize if any issues require attention.
Users can select either a comprehensive widget that displays an overview of all available body metrics or individual widgets for specific metrics. These can be added to both iPhone and iPad Home Screens by entering the editing mode—simply tap and hold on a widget or any empty space, then select the Edit and Add Widget option.
The widgets refresh automatically each morning, providing insights based on data collected during sleep. Additionally, the update enhances the understanding of the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), a concept Gentler Streak acknowledges may not be immediately clear to users.
Gentler Streak is designed to help users gain a better understanding of their physical condition, enabling them to determine whether they can enhance their workouts or if they’re over-exerting themselves. The app was awarded Apple’s App of the Year for Apple Watch in 2022 and was a finalist for the 2023 Apple Design Award.
In the previous year, Gentler Streak was honored with an Apple Design Award in the Best Social Impact category.
You can download Gentler Streak for free from the App Store, although some advanced features necessitate a subscription or a lifetime license. Currently, the app is offering a 40% discount on its annual subscription that includes family sharing. It’s important to note that the app functions best when paired with an Apple Watch.
