The cryptocurrency payment service that is being offered by crypto exchange firm Gate.io, Gate Pay, has now partnered with CityPay.io- which is a startup that specializes in crypto payments in the European country of Georgia.

This partnership will be enabling close to 600 Georgian vendors to enjoy the multiple benefits of crypto payment alternatives for their services and products. According to this announcement, Gate Pay users will be able to connect with a lot of merchants across the country- which would facilitate a wide range of activities daily- such as supermarket shopping, hotel bookings, and payments in restaurants. Interestingly, Wendy’s, a restaurant chain, is also one of the partners of CityPay.io, with the customers now capable of making payments using cryptocurrency for their meals.

Georgian Vendors Might Start Accepting Crypto Payments Now

The director of Gate Pay, Feng Zhou, went on to state that the launch of Gate Pay was aimed at connecting users with products, businesses, and applications, which were crypto-friendly. This would then bridge the gap between the daily lives of people, as well as Web3. Hence, the team went on to collaborate with partners such as CityPay in order to provide Georgian vendors with multiple crypto-payment services. This collaboration will offer a Web3 shopping experience to a far broader audience of regional merchants- as well as customers. The user base and experience of Gate Pay, which when combined with the business network of CityPay.io, and coverage in Georgia, will be facilitating this expansion.

It has been quite well-documented that Gate.io is absolutely no stranger to making moves when expanding business coverage. On 22nd February, the company announced its intention of seeking a license for crypto in Hong Kong- which would allow it to introduce Gate HK.
