A lot of people purchasing Apple Watches aim to enhance their health with the new gadget. However, John Hancock introduces a program that offers a significantly greater incentive. Their Vitality Plus life insurance initiative allows you to receive an (almost) complimentary Apple Watch Series 10 simply by engaging in physical activities.
Apple Watch as an incentive for staying active
John Hancock was among the pioneers in providing members with a nearly free Apple Watch in exchange for maintaining an active lifestyle. The program, which has now been ongoing for over seven years, has garnered considerable success for both the company and its members.
As new Watch models become available, they are consistently added to the lineup. Recently, John Hancock has included the Apple Watch Series 10.
This means you can acquire an Apple Watch Series 10 for the near-free price of just $25—but only if you keep yourself active.
Steps to obtain your $25 Apple Watch Series 10
You can find complete details regarding the Vitality Plus program for obtaining an Apple Watch on John Hancock’s website.
Here’s a brief overview of the steps you need to follow:
- Create a Vitality member account and complete the Vitality Health Review (VHR).
- Select your preferred Apple Watch and make an initial payment of $25.
- Monitor your activity using the Watch and gather Vitality points to offset any remaining balance on the Watch.
This program centers around rewarding your achievements. Therefore, the Watch’s cost will be distributed over two years, during which you’ll need to earn enough Vitality points to cover the remaining balance. By staying active during these two years, you’ll have no additional payments.
However, if you receive your Watch but fail to earn sufficient Vitality points in a month, you’ll be required to make a payment.
If you’re considering a different model, you can also obtain an Apple Watch Ultra 2 or Apple Watch SE through this program. The model you choose will influence the number of Vitality points you need to accrue monthly.
For the Apple Watch Series 10, you’ll need to acquire 500 Vitality points each month to prevent any extra payments. This translates to roughly 25 ‘standard’ workouts monthly or 16 ‘advanced’ workouts. Keep in mind that you can earn Vitality points through various activities beyond formal workouts, such as counting steps.
The full details on how to earn points and the complete rubric are available here.
