“‘When are you going to be married?’ people kept asking. ‘How come you are not married?'” Russell stated to the media that he was referring to their early years together in the 1980s. “And we were like, ‘Who cares about that?'” Goldie Hawn added. “We asked our children if they were interested. They did not do it. We did not do it.”
They met on the set of the 1966 comedy “The One and Only, Authentic, Original Family Band.” At the time, she was 21 and he was 16. Russell, according to Goldie Hawn, was “adorable” but “far too young” to be her date. They began dating in 1983 and just marked four decades of marriage on Valentine’s Day.
