Gurman: Apple Vision Pro 2 Expected to Launch Between Fall 2025 and Spring 2026

In the most recent Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg mentioned that the second generation of Apple Vision Pro is anticipated to launch between fall 2025 and spring 2026. This projection is in line with earlier reports, though it carries a slightly more cautious tone.

To recap, supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo indicated last week that Apple has significantly postponed its plans for a more affordable Apple Vision headset, choosing instead to concentrate on the second-gen Apple Vision Pro for a release the following year.

The Apple Vision Pro 2 is expected to transition from the Apple M2 chip to the not-yet-released M5 chip, offering a significant performance upgrade. While the M2 chip was the latest available when the Apple Vision Pro debuted, the M3 and M4 chips have since been introduced, making Apple’s $3500 spatial computer seem somewhat outdated.

This time, Apple Vision Pro should receive the M5 chip around the same timeframe that the first Macs equipped with M5 are released, which should help maintain its relevance.

According to Bloomberg, it is likely that the Apple Vision Pro 2 will retain a similar design to the current generation:

Apple is exploring various concepts for its Vision headset lineup, but it seems that at least one variant of the second-gen Vision Pro — if it launches — will closely resemble the existing design. The primary updates will be internal, including an upgrade to the processor.
