The wife of late Bitcoin pioneer Hal Finney, Fran Finney, resumed activity on the late Bitcoin pioneer’s Twitter account @hal_finney as a result of recent events in which controversial tweets from accounts deemed to be spreading misinformation were suspended by Twitter.

In a post written on Medium announcing her decision to resume activity on her husband’s account, Fran Finney explained that she has been communicating with Twitter support team members who had previously assured her that there was nothing wrong with the content of his tweets and no reason for them to be removed. However, after she noticed some suspicious behavior in other accounts belonging to prominent figures in the crypto space including Charlie Lee and Roger Ver earlier this week, she decided not to take any chances.

Hal Finney Family Back To Business

Hal Finney is a well-known figure in the cryptocurrency world. His name is mentioned by all Bitcoin and blockchain enthusiasts, because he was the first person to receive a Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto on January 12, 2009. In fact, Hal Finney’s wife has also used his Twitter account to reply to some of these comments after their account was suspended by Twitter on February 7.

According to sources familiar with the matter, it seems that this suspension may have been due to attempts by Hal’s wife Linda (also known as @lindatilbrook) to recover her husband’s Twitter handle and potentially prevent it from being permanently locked out of use. The couple has not specified what caused them so much concern about keeping access open for future generations – but we can only hope that everything turns out well for them!
