Hank Azaria Discusses the Future of “The Simpsons” and Says If He Would Ever Leave

Hank Azaria has been committed to The Simpsons for a very long time.

Since the 1989 premiere of the cartoon series, the now 58-year-old Hank Azaria has been an element of it. In addition to Lou, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Bumblebee Man, and Carl Carlson, he has also voiced Snake Jailbird, Chief Wiggum, and Moe Szyslak. Hank, playing Danny on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, opened up that he does not have any intentions to leave The Simpsons anytime soon at the fifth season screening of The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel on Thursday in NYC.

He said, that now since they were already doing seasons 35-36, which he thinks would likely increase to 40, in his opinion. He wonders what is to come next since the show appears to be flourishing. Hank Azaria further added that network television notions of what performing well imply have evolved so much in the previous 10-15 years. But no matter what the current criteria are, they appear to be working well, he continued, and it was still enjoyable to make. The audience appears to crave the performance.

Among the several endeavors that have contributed to Azaria’s rise to fame throughout the years is The Simpsons. But, he is enthusiastic about certain other prospective projects that he has included in his résumé while wondering about the potential of his profession. He said that at the moment, he has been working on a show called Hello Future on Apple which according to him was a fascinating program. In June another one of his shows is set to debut on HBO called, The Idiot.

Mrs. Maisel’s final season, which debuted its first episode on Friday, was another project that Azaria “truly liked” working on. He went on that the program had a distinct rhythm, tempo, and meticulousness. So much so that he had trouble locating his character. Hank Azaria continued, that he had to do a bit more experimentation with the character than he usually does.
