Here’s a realistic concept of the potential design for the iPhone 17 Air.

There have been numerous rumors regarding the upcoming “iPhone 17 Air,” as Apple is believed to be developing an ultra-slim iPhone set to be unveiled later this year. Following some low-resolution leaked images showing the backside of this new model, an impressive concept design now gives us a clearer visual of its potential appearance.

Concept for iPhone 17 Air

Designed by WEIS Studio, this concept visualizes how the iPhone 17 Air would look when held by a user. According to the latest leaks, this device is expected to be merely 5.5 millimeters thick. For perspective, the iPhone 16 Pro measures 8.25 mm, while the iPhone 6, the thinnest iPhone ever made, was 6.9 mm thick.

Another standout feature from the concept is the single-lens rear camera designed in a unique “bar” style, distinguishing it from any existing iPhone models. This aligns with recently leaked images showcasing the rear design of the iPhone 17 Air.

The concept amplifies the allure of the iPhone 17 Air, particularly if the rumors hold true. The new phone could rival the M4 iPad Pro’s thickness, which is just 5.3 mm in its 11-inch model. Analysts speculate that Apple is aiming to create an ultra-slim iPhone to invigorate sales, appealing to customers who might not otherwise consider a conventional phone.

Speculation indicates that the iPhone 17 Air will take the place of the “Plus” model, positioned between the standard iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro. Despite its striking design, the iPhone 17 Air may feature some hardware sacrifices compared to its Pro counterparts because of its slim profile, potentially foregoing additional rear camera lenses and a larger battery capacity.

The iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to boast a 6.6-inch OLED display with an enhanced refresh rate, likely at 90Hz, as opposed to the 120Hz found in the Pro models. The new device will also incorporate Apple’s proprietary 5G modem, rumored to debut next week with the iPhone SE 4. Coupled with the A19 chip, this modem is expected to optimize battery consumption.

The iPhone 17 series is slated for announcement later this year. What are your opinions on the iPhone 17 Air? We welcome your thoughts in the comments section below.
