Surviving in the jungle isn’t just about completing daring trials—it’s also about enduring serious hunger. Fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here often speculate whether campmates secretly receive extra food. But according to former contestants and the show’s presenters, the rations are as dire as they appear on TV.

The Reality of Jungle Rations

When campmates fail to bring back stars, the entire group must survive on basic rations: rice and beans. Roman Kemp, a contestant from 2019, gave fans an inside look at the harsh reality through a TikTok video. He shared, “If no one wins any stars, this is all you have for the day.”

He showcased the small packets of rice and beans that are divided among the campmates, emphasizing that each person gets one portion of each—no exceptions. For a camp of six, that’s six tiny portions to last until the next meal.

Ant and Dec, the show’s beloved hosts, have also confirmed the strict food rules. In a fan Q&A, they held up the minuscule daily ration packets. “This is all they get per person, per day,” Ant explained, making it clear that the hunger struggles aren’t exaggerated.

For many campmates, the limited food supply pushes them to their limits. James Haskell, also from season 19, admitted to trying to bribe producers for extra food. “I offered a crew member £500 for a Mars bar,” he revealed. Despite his efforts, he confirmed, “There is no extra food.”

So, while it may seem like the celebrities are playing up their hunger for the cameras, the struggle is very real. The jungle diet is strict, ensuring every star earned in trials makes a significant difference in boosting morale—and meal portions—for the camp.

Turns out, surviving on rice and beans is no walk in the park.
