Intel Unison: Windows Connectivity for Android/iOS Disconnects

Intel Unison has served as a valuable tool for Android and iOS users looking to share files, read messages, and more. Unfortunately, Intel appears to be discontinuing this app, leaving several users without a robust option for connecting to PCs.

While Intel Unison is not the only app designed to link phones with PCs, as Windows 11’s Phone Link offers similar functionality, it primarily supports Android devices. This limitation affects iOS users, who may find themselves unable to utilize the service due to Windows’ compatibility approach.

It has recently been reported by Neowin that the closure of Intel Unison is on the horizon, with the application set to cease operation after June 2025. The decommissioning process is already underway, which is likely to be unexpected news for users who depend on this software for mobile connectivity.

Notices across the Microsoft Store, Google Play Store, and App Store communicate the impending discontinuation, advising users that functionality will be lost post-June.

Intel Unison will soon be phased out. The initial stage of this process involves ending services for most platforms by the end of June 2025, while Lenovo Aura platforms will continue to receive support through 2025.

For Windows 11 users with an Android device, Windows Phone Link remains an alternative, although it lacks some features compared to Intel Unison. The Phone Link app is free and compatible with the majority of Windows 11 setups. While it has its limitations, it efficiently helps you manage mobile notifications from your desktop or laptop.

Currently, Intel offers no alternative applications for existing users, nor has it provided an explanation regarding the discontinuation.
