The latest MacBook Air featuring the M4 chip is now available in an eye-catching “sky blue” color. As per tradition, Apple includes a matching charging cable based on the color chosen by the buyer. However, even if you’re not planning to purchase the new M4 MacBook Air, you can still get your hands on the sky blue USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable separately.
Apple’s USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable introduces a fresh color
Shortly after the M4 MacBook Air launch this morning, Apple added the new sky blue cable to its online store. While this cable is primarily marketed as a replacement for those who have misplaced or damaged the original, many customers enjoy purchasing a different color to mix and match their accessories.
The versatile USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable isn’t limited to the M4 MacBook Air; it’s also compatible with the M2 MacBook Air models and Apple Silicon MacBook Pros with the MagSafe port (M1 Pro and newer).
In contrast to the darker midnight hue, sky blue presents a lighter tone. Apple describes the shade as “a stunning metallic light blue that exhibits a dynamic gradient when light interacts with its surface.” Initial real-world images of the new M4 MacBook Air in sky blue depict a subtle color that can appear somewhat grayish depending on the lighting conditions.
The USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable is 2 meters long and priced at $49. In addition to sky blue, it comes in space gray, midnight, starlight, black, and white. Note that the cable is sold separately from a power adapter, so you will need to provide your own if required.
