Today, Apple has introduced a set of three new betas. Developer beta 1 has arrived for visionOS 2.2, tvOS 18.2, and watchOS 11.2. Here’s what you should anticipate.
Beta 1 launches with expectations for new features in Vision Pro and Apple TV
The latest betas can be accessed by users with a developer account, providing an initial look at new features and updates expected to roll out publicly in December.
The public release last week of visionOS 2.1, tvOS 18.1, and watchOS 11.1 saw limited new features, with perhaps the most noteworthy being a minor update to the Apple TV app that introduced a new Watchlist.
However, today’s updates are expected to bring more new features.
Apple has highlighted various features for visionOS 2 and tvOS 18 that were planned for release by year-end, indicating that this is where we may see them.
For instance, the enhanced Mac Virtual Display feature for Vision Pro, promising ultra-wide views and higher resolutions, is still anticipated to debut in visionOS 2.2, possibly even in this first beta.
tvOS has yet to receive new screensavers, expected to arrive in late 2024. A TV and Movies screensaver is on the way, along with a playful Snoopy screensaver—both slated for tvOS 18.2.
We’ll keep you updated on any new features we uncover in the latest betas across all platforms.
