iOS 18.2 Beta 4 Has Been Released

The developer beta of iOS 18.2 beta 4 is now available, bringing us closer to its public release next month. This update boasts significant new features related to Apple Intelligence, an overhauled Mail app, enhancements to Find My, and several other improvements.

It’s important to note that iOS 18.2 beta 4 isn’t available for over-the-air installation yet. Instead, developers can download it from Apple’s developer portal. The OTA version is expected to be released shortly.

This beta version for developers carries the build number 22C5142a. We anticipate a new public beta to be launched later this week. iOS 18.2 will be compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 18, while the Apple Intelligence features are exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models.

One of the most exciting aspects of iOS 18.2 is the introduction of the second phase of Apple Intelligence features:

  • Image Playground enables users to craft “fun images in seconds” by simply typing, with options for Animation and Illustration styles.
  • Genmoji allows for the creation of personalized emojis based on textual descriptions.
  • Users can now choose to access ChatGPT when interacting with Siri in iOS 18.2.
  • A new “Compose” button in the Writing Tools feature helps generate text regarding selected topics, along with a fresh “describe your change” option.
  • Visual intelligence employs the capabilities of the iPhone 16’s camera to enhance knowledge about your surroundings.
  • Image Wand in the Notes app transforms rough sketches into polished images and generates visuals drawing from context in the rest of your notes.

The release of iOS 18.2 beta 3 last week incorporated several modifications for Camera Control, the Photos app, among others. For a comprehensive overview, check out our complete roundup.
