The interface is user-friendly and seamlessly integrates with apps such as Messages. Additionally, it boasts a dedicated app designed for those wishing to explore various concepts and styles. All creations happen locally, allowing users to freely experiment with countless images.
Using the Image Playground app, you can start with an image from your Photos library. Whether it’s a picture of yourself or someone else, you can modify it using text descriptions, resulting in a seemingly limitless array of custom images.
A variety of themes, locations, costumes, and accessories are at your fingertips as you design your image. These curated suggestions are designed by Apple editors to spark your creativity.
The images produced by Image Playground are stylistically unique rather than photorealistic. Users can choose between two artistic styles: animation and illustration. Upon generating an image, you can easily swipe through various previews to select your favorite.
In addition to being available as a standalone application, Image Playground is also embedded in several other apps on your iPhone. For example, you can find it within the Messages app for quick access. Additionally, it will be integrated into applications such as Keynote, Pages, and Freeform. An API will also be provided to enable third-party developers to incorporate Image Playground into their own applications.
iOS 18.2 Devices
iOS 18.2 will be compatible with all devices that can run iOS 18. However, to experience the Apple Intelligence features, including the novel Image Playground app, users will need the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max.
