Shortly after the latest iOS 18.2 beta was rolled out for developers, a new public beta has been released. The iOS 18.2 public beta 3 is here, marking one of the final updates before the full launch next month. Here’s what’s included in the update.
Updates in public beta 3 before the RC release
The current public beta reflects the same software build as the developer beta 4 that was made available earlier today.
This latest build does not introduce many new features or significant changes. A few minor updates have been identified:
- The video scrubber in the Photos app now displays milliseconds.
- Accessibility settings for Camera Control have been integrated into the standard Camera Control settings hub for better organization.
- A new default Contactless App setting can now replace Wallet in Settings ⇾ Apps, discovered in the previous beta.
- Minor design adjustments have been made to Apple Mail.
Overall, beta 3 prioritizes performance enhancements and bug fixes, which is expected as we approach the shipping of the RC (release candidate) version of iOS 18.2.
Following a recent trend of weekly iOS 18.2 betas, it is likely the company will pause updates next week for the Thanksgiving holiday, meaning the next beta could arrive during the week of December 2.
Most probably, that will be when the RC update is released ahead of a public launch planned for the week of December 9.
Key Features of iOS 18.2
