iOS 18.3 Beta 2 Resolves Significant Calculator Bug from Last Fall

Apple has unveiled the release of iOS 18.3 beta 2. While the changes in this version may not seem extensive, it introduces an eagerly awaited fix for the Calculator application that users have requested frequently since the redesign in iOS 18.

Repeating operations can now be performed again, restored from the iOS 18 update.

When Apple launched iOS and iPadOS 18 in September, these updates featured a mix of significant and minor modifications across various system applications.

The Calculator app was included in these updates.

In addition to making Calculator available on the iPad for the first time, Apple also revised several aspects of the app on the iPhone.

However, not all changes have met with approval.

A notable point of contention was the elimination of the ability to repeat calculations.

In prior versions, users could tap the equals button multiple times to carry out successive calculations.

For instance, entering 5 x 8 and pressing equals would yield the result 40. You could then press equals again to multiply 40 by 8, giving you 320, which could again be multiplied by 8 with another equals button press.

This functionality was removed in iOS 18, but it has now been reinstated in iOS 18.3 beta 2.

You can once again press the equals button repeatedly to execute new operations as desired.

Were you missing this feature from the Calculator? Are there any other iOS 18 modifications that should be addressed? Share your thoughts in the comments.
