Earlier reports indicated that the iOS 18.3 Release Candidate is now accessible to developers and public beta testers. This is likely the last beta version of iOS 18.3 before it becomes available to the wider public.
Consequently, Apple has released its official release notes for iOS 18.3 for the first time. Continue reading for a comprehensive overview.
Below are the complete release notes for iOS 18.3 directly from Apple:
Enhanced Visual Intelligence with Camera Control (Applicable to all iPhone 16 models)
- Ability to add events to Calendar directly from a poster or flyer
- Simple identification of plants and animals
Notification Summaries (All iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max)
- Convenient management of notification summary settings directly from the Lock Screen
- Refined styling for summarized notifications, which now feature italicized text alongside the glyph to distinguish them from other notifications
- Notification summaries for News & Entertainment apps are temporarily disabled; users who opt in will regain access to this feature when it is reinstated
This update brings the following improvements and bug fixes:
- The Calculator will repeat the last mathematical operation when the equals sign is tapped again
- Resolves an issue where the keyboard might vanish when starting a typed Siri request
- Fixes a problem where audio would continue playing until the song finishes, even after closing Apple Music
If Apple adheres to its established schedule—as is sometimes the case—we can expect iOS 18.3 to be publicly released next week.
