iOS 18.4 Beta Introduces Enhanced Siri Features Awaited ‘Soon’

Since the public release of iOS 18.3 in late January, anticipation has been building for the launch of the first beta of iOS 18.4, which is set to introduce significant updates to Siri and enhanced Apple Intelligence functionalities. A report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicates that developers can expect the update to be available “fairly soon.”

iOS 18.4 on the Horizon

According to Gurman, the initial beta of iOS 18.4 is likely to be released to developers between “mid-next week and early the following week.” For reference, the first beta of iOS 17.4 was launched on January 25 last year, while the first beta of iOS 16.4 came out on February 16.

iOS 18.4 is anticipated to finally bring long-awaited enhancements to Siri for devices supporting Apple Intelligence. Planned features include improved personal context comprehension, enhanced on-screen awareness, and the capability to manage applications. The update is also expected to introduce Priority Notifications, which will utilize AI to prioritize specific alerts.

Additionally, Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.4 will extend Apple Intelligence support to new languages, marking the first such expansion. Languages set to be included are Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Moreover, iOS 18.4 is likely to introduce a variety of new emoji, which have been previously unveiled by the Unicode Consortium. These new emojis feature a fingerprint, a face with bags under the eyes, a harp, a root vegetable, a leafless tree, splatter, and a shovel.
