As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to launch iOS 18.4 in April. While the beta phase for iOS 18.4 has not yet commenced, several features are anticipated based on initial insights.
Significant Siri Enhancements
This spring, Apple is expected to introduce three key enhancements to Siri with iOS 18.4, pushing the assistant into the realm of Apple Intelligence. The planned enhancements consist of:
- Contextual understanding
- On-device awareness
- Integration with applications
These new capabilities will enable Siri to better comprehend your individual context and perform tasks on your behalf.
Expanded Language Options with Apple Intelligence
Following the release of iOS 18.2, Apple announced that iOS 18.4 will support additional languages starting in April 2025. While the exact timeline for language releases remains unclear, Apple has indicated the languages expected to launch in 2025, including:
In April, an update will roll out to enhance language support, with more languages to follow throughout the year. Supported languages will include Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and more.
Exciting New Emoji
Over recent years, Apple has consistently added new emoji with its spring iOS updates, a trend likely to continue with iOS 18.4. The Unicode Consortium has already revealed the new emoji set, which Apple is expected to implement shortly. This year’s new emoji include:
- Fingerprint
- Face with bags under eyes
- Harp
- Root vegetable
- Leafless tree
- Splatter
- Shovel
