In December, the iPhone introduced a new app called Image Playground, powered by Apple Intelligence, which has received a significant update in iOS 18.4, featuring a new image creation capability.
Sketch adds to the trio of Image Playground styles
Apple Intelligence encompasses a broad range of features, and iOS 18.2 rolled out some of the most captivating features yet, including integration with ChatGPT, Genmoji, and Image Playground.
If you’re interested in AI-driven image generation, Image Playground serves as Apple’s response.
This app allows users to generate original images simply by typing a description. It can be accessed through its dedicated app or integrated into other applications like Messages and Notes.
With the release of iOS 18.4, Apple has introduced a new style previously unavailable for Image Playground: Sketch.
This brings the total number of style options to three:
- Animation
- Illustration
- Sketch
Back in June of last year, Apple had revealed that Sketch would be a feature of Image Playground. However, it was absent in both iOS 18.2 and 18.3.
Fortunately, Apple has now launched the complete suite of Image Playground features initially showcased at WWDC.
Sketch is now accessible in Image Playground on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, providing a new avenue to visualize your AI-generated creations via iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4.
Since Image Playground is also integrated into several other first-party applications, such as Apple Invites, Notes, and iWork, those applications benefit from this enhancement as well.
