iOS 18.4 Introduces RCS Support for Google Fi

Yesterday, Apple launched the new iOS 18.4 beta, which introduces RCS support for Google Fi. iPhone users who are subscribed to the Google MVNO have been anticipating this enhancement for Android-to-iOS messaging since September.

With the second beta of iOS 18.4, Google Fi users will find the RCS Messaging toggle in Settings > Apps > Messages. The activation process may take a few moments.

Additionally, iOS 18.4 seems to broaden RCS support for MVNOs utilizing T-Mobile’s network across the United States.

When iOS 18 debuted in September, RCS was initially enabled solely for major US carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon). Support for additional providers has been rolled out in subsequent updates.

Apple maintains a support article titled “Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada” that outlines the status of “RCS messaging.”

The stable release of iOS 18.4 is expected in April. Several more beta versions will be released in the coming weeks, showcasing some significant changes already. You can also opt to join the beta program now.
