Recently, a new speculation emerged indicating that the Camera app is poised for a substantial redesign in iOS 19 this year. YouTube creator Jon Prosser shared a video detailing that the revamped Camera app will embody a design philosophy akin to that of visionOS.

Prosser claims to have witnessed the reimagined Camera app from iOS 19 in action. However, to safeguard his source, he’s unable to share the original video. Instead, he crafted a version of it from the ground up to provide insight into the expected redesign.

A highlight of this redesign is the expanded camera viewfinder that occupies a larger portion of the screen. The current Camera app often feels cluttered with too many controls and settings that can distract from capturing a photo or video. While immediate access to those controls is essential, the new design for iOS 19 appears to prioritize frequently used settings while minimizing clutter.
The design showcased in this leaked iOS 19 concept evidently draws inspiration from visionOS, highlighting some of the translucent design elements introduced with the Apple Vision Pro. It remains uncertain whether this design aesthetic will extend to other iOS 19 features.
