Japanese bitcoin investment firm Metaplanet

announced on Friday the appointment of Eric F. Trump to a newly established strategic advisory board.
The board consists of members dedicated to promoting the bitcoin

initiative and fostering financial innovation, as stated in the company’s announcement.
Trump, the son of U.S. President Donald Trump, is recognized as a “prominent voice and proponent of the global adoption of digital assets,” the company noted.
Metaplanet, which is listed on the Standard section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, was formerly known as Red Planet Japan and focused on local hotel operations.
The company’s subsidiary, Red Planet Hotels Japan, filed for bankruptcy in May 2024.
