Ted Lasso emerged as the first major success on Apple TV+, but the show’s future has been uncertain since the conclusion of its third season in May 2023. Initially, there was widespread belief that season 3 was to be the series finale; however, recent signs suggest that a fourth season may indeed be on the horizon.
Now, Jason Sudeikis has made it clear: Ted Lasso season four is officially in production.
Confirmation of Ted Lasso Season 4
During an interview on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, Sudeikis revealed that they are currently working on the script for season four of Ted Lasso. Besides portraying the lead character, Sudeikis also serves as a creator, writer, and producer for the series.
“We’re in the process of writing season four now; that’s the official update,” Sudeikis stated in a clip shared on X. “Ted will be coaching a women’s team.”
This aligns with earlier speculations regarding the direction of Ted Lasso’s storyline in season four. For instance, Sigmund Judge reported last month that filming was expected to kick off in May or June in London, with a narrative focus shifting towards the establishment of a women’s team at AFC Richmond.
Although there were concerns regarding Sudeikis’s participation in season four, it appears that Ted Lasso himself will take on the role of coach for the newly established AFC Richmond women’s team.
While there hasn’t been an announcement regarding the premiere date for Ted Lasso season 4 on Apple TV+, it seems we still have a while to wait. Nevertheless, it’s reassuring to receive formal confirmation from Sudeikis that the fourth season is indeed on its way.
Another clue about season 4: the Ted Lasso account on X mysteriously reactivated today after 18 months of inactivity.
