In a recent interview, Jenna Ortega spoke about how she was extremely freaked out at the 29th Annual Screen Guild Awards which took place the previous month. On Thursday, when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 20-year-old star of the hit Netflix series Wednesday talked about the first time she had met Paul Mescal- who was at the same table as her during the awards ceremony. Ortega informed Jimmy Fallon that she was also freaking out because Zendaya was sitting with Mescal- who she considered to be extremely talented and good.
Jenna Ortega Was Quite Freaked Out When She Met Paul Mescal
Jenna Ortega further informed Fallon that she knew that Mescal would be sitting at her table- which freaked her out a lot more. Interestingly, he had also introduced himself to her when the actress was expecting the least. But while Mescal was confident while introducing himself to Jenna, the latter was a mess.
She could barely go through the entire conversation and was not capable of looking the actor in the eye- but she did say that his movie Aftersun was quite brilliant. At the SAG Awards, Jenna joined forces with Aubrey Plaza to present the award for the most outstanding performance by a male in a limited series or a television movie.
When the couple came up to present the awards, they were silent for the first few minutes. But then Aubrey Plaza mentioned, quite hilariously, that she didn’t see why the two had been paired together. This was when Jenna Ortega also agreed to it and said that they had nothing in common. Needless to say, the chemistry between the two actresses was quite palpable and fans couldn’t get enough.
