JPMorgan Chase Reports ,016,728 Investment in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in Latest SEC Filing

JPMorgan Chase, a leading player in the financial services sector, has amassed over $1 million in shares of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

As revealed in a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), JPMorgan’s holdings include more than $984,000 in Bitcoin-focused ETFs and $32,300 in Ethereum ETFs, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

The disclosed data highlights significant ETFs in the bank’s portfolio, such as more than $523,000 invested in the ProShares Bitcoin ETF (BITO), approximately $290,000 in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), $68,000 in the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), $55,000 in Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin (FBTC), and $37,000 in the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC).

For Ethereum, JPMorgan holds $23,800 worth of the Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE), $6,200 in the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA), $2,100 in the Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH), and $102 in the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH).

ETFs related to these top two cryptocurrencies – allowing investors to gain exposure without directly purchasing the assets – received SEC approval in 2024 following years of rejections.

In May 2024, SEC filings indicated that JPMorgan managed $760,000 in spot market BTC ETFs for its clients, reflecting an increase of more than $220,000.
