Another country stepped in to provide political asylum to Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks. This took place following the rejection of the extradition request made by the United States of America to the United Kingdom. Their plea was rejected by a British judge. Shortly after this, Mexico made their offering.

The President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador gave a statement following the Julian Assange news incident. He said that he was very happy with the judgment that had been delivered by the UK. She said this while he offered for the asylum.

Extradition Request Of Julian Assange Rejected

Julian Assange is currently carrying a total of 12 charges of espionage against him. According to the rule of the judge assigned to his case, if he got extradited to the US isolation prison, he would attempt suicide. This was because he was not in a normal mental condition. the Department of Justice gave out the statement that they would continue with its efforts in seeking the extradition of Assange in the US.

The arguments placed by the lawyers of Julian Assange were rejected by the British district judge, Vanessa Baraitser. According to Assange’s lawyers, all the charges made against him posed an attack on the freedom of the press and to those who stood to be motivated politically. The British district judge instead, accepted the arguments placed by the US. They said that it would be wrong to put the activities of Julian Assange, the convict, under the banner of journalism.

The ruling of the judge, Vanessa Braitser, was based on the medical evidence report of the mental health of the convict. She stated that Assange was in depression and in fear of his future. And so, it would be inhuman to accept the extradition request of the US currently.
