Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s wedding was a quiet courthouse ceremony in New York City on September 30, 2019. It was the only time that Bieber and Baldwin were together for their marriage, with no friends or family present.
The couple had been dating for about two years at that point, but they didn’t make their relationship public until July 6, 2018, after paparazzi caught them kissing outside of a hotel in New York City.
The couple confirmed their engagement on March 1, 2019, with an Instagram post showing Justin dropping down on one knee to propose to Hailey at her parents’ house in Long Island.
The wedding took place exactly four years ago today—on September 30th! After nearly two years of dating, Bieber and Baldwin got engaged in July 2018 when Bieber proposed to his then-girlfriend during a romantic trip to the Bahamas.

“I feel like the luckiest guy in the world,” he told E! News at the time. “I get to marry my best friend.” The singer, 26, and the model, 23, tied the knot in June 2018 in front of a small group of family and friends at a resort in Lake Como, Italy.
Now they’re letting fans behind the scenes as they celebrate their anniversary. “We were just praying together,” Justin Bieber said during an interview with People. “I think I was so nervous I said, ‘Hey, I kinda want to ask you something.’ She was like ‘Oh my goodness,’ and she just started crying.”
Justin Bieber proposed to Baldwin in the Bahamas after inviting his parents to join them on vacation for a weekend getaway he planned beforehand (which also included his own birthday). He proposed at sunset on top of a cliff overlooking water during what he called “the best moment” of his life — including seeing Bieber perform onstage at Madison Square Garden — because it felt “so natural” and “wasn’t forced.”
The couple didn’t tell anyone else about their plans until right before revealing their engagement photos months later almost two years ago now!
