Kevin McHale has been remembering the time he learned of Cory Monteith’s passing from his Glee co-star.
This Thursday, the actor, 35, recalled hearing the awful news alongside Naya, who passed away after seven years in mid-2020 as the consequence of a drowning tragedy, while they were traveling around Europe. Kevin McHale recalled via a tweet being in London along with Naya a decade back on the same day. They met up right away after having received the news. They divided their time between being shocked, laughing at their recollections, and sobbing at how impossible it all was.
Kevin McHale Regrets Not Telling His Friends How Great They Were
A decade down the line, he still misses both of them, Kevin McHale said. He appreciates them for bringing light to him, however briefly. On July 13, 2013, Monteith was discovered dead in a hotel in Vancouver, having overdosed on alcohol and heroin. He was only 31.
When Cory Monteith passed away, his representative released a statement saying that they were extremely heartbroken to verify that his reports were accurate and that they were grieving the tragic loss. Around three months down the line, the touching fifth season episode titled “The Quarterback,” which lamented the passing of both Monteith and Finn himself, helped Glee and its performers process their sorrow.
In a statement, Kevin McHale said that they had been talking about it but what made him angry was that he had been such a great performer and he doesn’t think they told him that enough or simply how great he was. Kevin McHale acknowledged that he now regrets not having been able to tell the actor and his dear friend how exceptional he was when he still had the chance.
